This month’s advice recognises funding that backs projects where the problems take place. Early learning infrastructure, community benefit sharing along major energy corridors, inclusive community spaces.
Assessors are looking for projects that can be approved quickly. That means sites are secured, stakeholders aligned, approvals in place, and you are ready to hit the ground running.

For capital and infrastructure style grants, many applications focus too much on building the thing and not enough on what happens after practical completion. A simple way to stand out is to include an attachment, even if it is only two pages that includes:
- Operating model
Who owns it, who runs it, opening hours or utilisation, and what changes for users.
- Ongoing costs and funding
The annual costs, what is already funded, what is new, and how gaps are covered. If there is a lease, maintenance or insurance obligation, state it plainly.
- Demand and access details
Show evidence of need, who benefits, and how you will ensure inclusion and access. One paragraph is often enough if it is specific, or use a table.
- Delivery and oversight
A basic governance chart, milestones, and the top risks with mitigations.
